About this blog
I started this blog in 2010 to criticize the criminal justice system in Wisconsin, the state where I practice criminal defense. My original targets were (and still are) the police, prosecutors, judges, and other government agents. Since then, my writing has expanded to cover other areas of interest, including legal education and state bar associations. (Occasionally, I will even venture well outside of my range and write about other subjects, including business, sports, science, and philosophy.) But regardless of the topic, my writing is motivated by the advice of the late, great Christopher Hitchens in his book Letters to a Young Contrarian: "Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity."
