As for Dean's closing argument, I think it makes sense to say, as he did, that the police believed Avery was guilty, and they therefore cut corners and did sloppy work and even lied and planted evidence in order to prove what they already believed to be true. They did a good job in many ways but there were huge gaps.<br /><br />However, I don't agree Zellner's criticisms were as you imply.
